The revenue that bills itself.
Recurring revenue that collects itself — charges go out, failed cards get chased, and you watch MRR and churn move instead of chasing invoices.

The renewal nobody remembered to bill.
Someone raises the invoices each cycle, chases the cards that bounced, and guesses at churn from a spreadsheet that's already a week out of date. Every step done by hand is a period you can forget to bill and a customer you quietly lose.
It invoices, posts and charges itself.
Every period a due subscription raises its own invoice, posts it, and charges the card on file — no cycle to remember to run. You watch the revenue arrive instead of chasing it.
Every change moves a number you can see.
A new subscription, an upgrade, a downgrade, a cancellation — each writes an MRR movement as it happens. Your recurring revenue and churn aren't a monthly recompute; they're the running tally.
A failed card doesn't quietly become churn.
When a charge is declined the subscription goes Past Due and the payment is retried on a schedule. It only churns once the retries are exhausted — so a bad card gets recovered, not written off.

Subscription management software, answered.
How is this different from sending recurring invoices?+
Invoicing can repeat an entry. Subscriptions owns the whole recurring relationship: free trials, upgrades and downgrades prorated mid-cycle, dunning when a card fails, MRR and churn movements, and a self-service portal — none of which a repeated invoice knows about.
What happens when a card is declined?+
The charge is retried on a schedule rather than quietly failing. The subscription moves to Past Due, then Suspended, and only churns once the retries are exhausted — and every attempt is logged, so a bounced card gets recovered instead of lost.
Can customers manage their own subscription?+
Yes. From the customer portal they can pause, resume, change plan, update the card on file and cancel — without an email to your team — while you keep the audit trail of every move.
Which plans include Subscriptions?+
Subscriptions is part of the Standard and Enterprise plans. Invoicing — invoices, payments and clean books — is included free in every edition.
